On March 13, 2022, a tweet shocked the user base of YouTube Vanced, which was launched in 2017. Vanced Official tweeted, “Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it’s something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.”

YouTube Vanced is a YouTube Premium clone app that allows the user to enjoy all the premium services of Youtube for free. The Vanced owners stated that they are discontinuing the project due to legal reasons.

According to statista.com YouTube is the 2nd most visited website in the world, witnessing 13.34 billion monthly visitors in 2021. The statistics are explanatory to show that people are revolving their lives around YouTube, be it for a video about excel sheets or changing the mobile oil of the car, YouTube has got you covered.

However, the Youtube ads have shown to hamper the user experience that has made some users to switch to its premium version by paying for it. Youtube reported having 50 million Premium and Music subscribers last year. Here, Youtube Vanced seemed like a convenient alternative for a lot of people to enjoy ad free experience absolutely free of cost. Though vanced would work for the foreseeable future but would stop working since no new update will be available.
