New Delhi: South Korean auto major Hyundai on Tuesday unveiled the performance-oriented N Line for its i20 model in India. The company’s first model with the N Line badge is available for bookings at INR 25,000 and it will go on sale next month. It will be retailed through 188 Signature outlets spread across 97 cities in the country.
The automaker said the N Line models will offer customers motorsport-inspired styling cues that evoke excitement and athleticism.
According to the company, i20 N Line is powered by a 1-litre petrol Turbo GDI engine mated with six-speed iMT (intelligent Manual transmission) and seven-speed DCT transmission options.
The i20 N Line offers 6 airbags, all-disc brakes, ESP (electronic stability program), hill assist TPMS and vehicle stability management.
Tarun Garg, director, sales & marketing, Hyundai Motor India, said, “N Line cars are aimed for customers who have a distinct liking for WRC cars and lead an active lifestyle.”
The model will be available in 4 monotone colours and 2 dual-tone options. On the rear, the hatchback packs an aerodynamic roof spoiler and side gate spoiler, dual-tone bumper, twin-tip muffler.
Hyundai has 11 N Line models globally and has clocked 1 lakh units in 40 countries since 2018.
N in N Line nomenclature stands for Namyang, Hyundai’s global R&D centre and tried and tested at Nurburgring race circuit, the carmaker said.
The company will introduce one N Line model in 2021, and subsequently launch additional models for Indian customers over the next few years.
Hyundai currently sells N Line in various countries in Europe, South Korea, the US and Russia among others.
Hyundai’s first N-branded vehicle was the i30 N, which made its debut in 2017.
